Absurdities #5

By Eilene Lyon

I just love signs written by people who don’t speak the language they’re writing in. They are so frequently unintentionally funny!

It doesn’t matter what language they speak or what language they’re writing in – I just happen to “get” the ones written in English.

But maybe someday this sign will be true: you can page your diving equipment and someone who didn’t lose theirs could go get it for you! That would be cool.

Really, I’m sure I could come up with some hilarious signs if I tried writing one in German, Chinese, Navajo, or Hindi. I might just be passable in Spanish. I should give it a go. Now, where did I put that English-Farsi Dictionary…?

(Go on, give me an assignment!)
