We are without pets the last two years after Olive our cat passed away. We always had a big dog and a cat. I miss them but it’s easier for travel. Also the end of their lives was too much! Don’t want to go through that again.

The sad ending I’m not looking forward to, either. But the house feels too empty without pets.

Our son suffers from allergies and asthma. If it wasn’t for him, I’d probably get a dog or cat. Finally, he’s able to stay with us without getting sick. When we lived in Palm Springs, the dog and cat were outdoors most of the time and our son wasn’t as bothered.

It’s our first “domestic” bike tour. All the others were in Europe. I’ll be sure to post on it.🙂

The Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal in one go — what a way to spend a break. Riding a route you’ve wanted to do for years always feels different from just taking a trip. Enjoy being off the computer entirely; the sunset view will still be there in October.

Thanks! I’m sure the ride will be fun and interesting for the scenery and the history. We’ll spend two nights in Harper’s Ferry to have a full day for the history.

Eilene – I hope you’re enjoying your biking vacation. While you were gone, it looks like a bear was roaming around your town.

I did read about that in our paper. They also had to euthanize a bear that was suffering from clogged intestines full of trash. They really have a tough year with poor natural food sources.

I’m sorry to hear that about the bear Eilene. Feel free to delete the comment/video. I didn’t know if you were tuning it to local events online while on vacation and it would be old news by the time you got home. Happy pedaling!
